Project Detail
CJ Design enjoyed a long term relationship with BGC Partners providing ongoing technical support across many of their locations throughout the world but particularly their real estate within the UK.
In February 2018 we were invited to fee tender for the commission of their group relocation from 1 Churchill Place to 5 Churchill Place. This was to involve the relocation of some 1600 staff across 5 floors of electronic brokerage, the senior Executive suite, technical equipment rooms, support services and the implementation of a new staff catering facility.
Following extended lease negotiations construction work for the extensive fit out commenced in September 2018 with the creation of the first of several new data Centres within the project, followed by the sequential roll out of the completed brokerage floors created within either Cat A or previously tenanted Cat B floors.
Whilst much of the detail of the project remains commercial-in-confidence under the discretion of BGC, approximately 1600 active or potential trading stations were implemented across several business entities.
The implementation of highly resilient services infrastructure delivered the facilities offered by the building core systems throughout the BGC occupancy.
BGC Partners embraced the opportunity to modernise their internal systems which substantially reduced the overall power and cooling demands. The project also included significant modification and replacement of existing mechanical and electrical services throughout the BGC occupation to address life cycle and future risk elements.
Results
A project that presented challenges in terms of time and complexity compounded by complex logistics and an even more challenging lease. Delivering a successful and seamless move without disruption to the Client’s business is considered an enormous success by all concerned and one which we at CJ Design are extremely proud to have been associated with.
